Ryne Sandberg of Cubs fame back in the friendly confines of Wrigley FIeld. This time he was coaching third base for the Peoria Chiefs, the Single-A ball club associated with the Chicago Cubs.
This was certainly a historic night that I was excited to be a part of. The only real down to the evening was that we were all ready and lined up behind the center field wall for a rare opportunity to run the bases at Wrigley when the heavens opened and the rains came down suspending the game with a 6-6 tie. What a missed opportunity.
But the kids had fun as evidenced here and I hope it is something they can look back on and say "We were there"
